Oz Robot at Innovation Farms Ontario

Autonomous Robotics

Ontario

Project Overview

AIVA is collaborating with Haggerty Ag Robotics to validate the OZ Robot, an autonomous robot that was developed for use in market garden operations. This project will assess the weeding frequency required for autonomous robots to maintain sufficient weed control and any observations of crop health associated with weeding frequencies. The project will also examine the overall operational efficiency and performance of the OZ to manage small-scale vegetable plots and market gardens. The key outcome is to assess the optimal operating frequency of the autonomous robot.

Project Attributes

Innovation Category: Autonomous Robots

Targeted Users of the Innovation: Farmers

Locations: Area X.O (Ontario), Innovation Farms Ontario (Ontario)

Crops: Pumpkins & Onions

Project Activities

  • Assess weed pressures across two different frequencies of weed control by the Oz robots and the impacts on crop yield. Capture observations on various aspects of robot performance and challenges faced.
  • Determine the optimal operating frequency of the OZ robots.
