The AIVA Network is growing and our community of farmers is taking shape across Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Currently 35 farmers have joined the AIVA Network as Farmer Alliance Members, collectively representing more than 360,000 acres of farmland across two provinces. While every farm looks a little different, the most commonly grown crops among our members are canola, wheat, and soybeans.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

AIVA was built around the idea that farmers should have a stronger voice in how agricultural technologies are tested, evaluated, and ultimately adopted. Farmer Alliance Members are real Canadian farmers who trial market-ready technologies using AIVA’s standardized testing frameworks. The feedback they provide to innovators is essential to developing agtech that addresses farmers’ most pressing challenges. 

Already, our farmers are showing interest in technologies that could help improve efficiency and input use, including solar-powered see-and-spray systems and optimized spray nozzle technologies. Farmer Alliance Members bring a wide range of experience, perspectives, farm sizes, and production systems to the network. That diversity will be incredibly valuable as we begin connecting farmers with technologies that align with the needs of their operations.

Why are farmers joining AIVA?

For farmers like Colin Rosengren of Three Farmers / Rosengren Farms, that opportunity to stay connected to what’s coming next is a big part of AIVA’s value. 

Jake Ayre, who farms at Southern Seed Ltd. and serves as Vice President of Keystone Agricultural Producers, sees collaboration as an important part of navigating a rapidly changing agtech landscape.
