Miraterra
Project Overview
Miraterra is a Canadian soil insight company. Its soil intelligence platform reads the land from above using geospatial tools, measures chemical and physical properties with the Digitizer instrument, and combines that data with the world’s largest proprietary soil DNA library to capture a holistic understanding of soil. AI then decodes that complexity into insights farmers, food producers, and policymakers can act on to advance food nutrition, farm productivity, and the long-term health of the land.
AIVA is collaborating with Miraterra to validate specific features within their soil intelligence platform. The project will evaluate how their technology supports improved field management decision-making. The project will also evaluate:
- How the optimized soil sampling feature provides a more cost-effective sampling plan without sacrificing the richness of the information gathered.
- Miraterra’s multi-faceted field data collection to enable a holistic understanding of soil – including soil chemistry, biology, physical properties; geospatial data; environmental conditions; and user input.
- The AI (artificial intelligence) companion’s ability to interpret and synthesize combined data to deliver agronomically impactful insights.

Project Activities
- Comparing the Soil Sample Optimizer outputs against the Validation Hub’s existing soil mapping plans.
- Provide feedback on the process of uploading field management data (e.g. history, soil reports, yield maps) into LandVault.
- Evaluate the quality of the AI companion’s analysis and insight outputs monthly based on specific seasonal prompts.
- Provide general feedback on useful or desired features, including any challenges with data uploads
- Test the Equipment Fixer feature, as in-season equipment failures occur.
